"Sam, you're in excellent shape for an 85-year-old man. But I'm not a magician - I can't make you any younger," says the doctor.
"Who asked you to make me younger, already?" says Sam.
"You just make sure I get older!"

God, who gets invited
to dinner at your place?
How do we get on your guest list?
"Walk straight,
act right,
tell the truth.
"Don't hurt your friend,
don't blame your neighbor,
despise the despicable.
"Keep your word even when it costs you,
make an honest living,
never take a bribe.
"You'll never get
blacklisted
if you live like this."
Psalm 15
The Message

Are You Feeling Unqualified?
When Moses told God that he was unqualified for the job, in a way, he was right. When God calls you He equips you, but He doesn't necessarily do it in advance. Your equipping often takes place in the process of fulfilling your assignment.
Have you told God, "I'm terrified of talking in front of people - what do you mean you want me to lead this meeting?" Or, "I don't have the skills needed. Why would You want me to apply for this job when I'm not very qualified?" You cannot rely on your own perspective! The only qualifications you absolutely must have to do any job God asks of you, are His strength and His ability. The rest, as they say, is "on-the-job training." You simply have to trust God and act on His urging.
That's not to say you'll never be afraid. Like Moses, you may feel so inadequate you can't imagine succeeding. That's when you must exercise faith to stretch and grow beyond what you can imagine and simply start doing what needs to be done based on what you currently know. That can be humbling. You'll likely find yourself more dependent on God than ever before. You may have to ask a lot of questions of those around you, and sometimes more than once. Don't be afraid to ask, to make mistakes, to seek assistance, or to do things differently than your predecessor. If God has called you - then you're the person for the job! Don't ever lose sight of that!
