The other guy, figuring this was worth looking into, asked, "Why are you throwing those nails away?"

The first explained, "If I pull a nail out of my pouch and it's pointed TOWARD me, I throw it away 'cause it's defective.  If it's pointed toward the HOUSE, then I nail it in!"

The second got completely upset and yelled, "You Goober!!!  The nails pointed toward you aren't defective!  They're for the OTHER side of the house!!"

On your feet now - applaud God!  Bring
a gift of laughter, sing yourselves into
his presence.  Know this: God is God,
and God, God.  He made us; we didn't
make him.  We're his people, his well-
tended sheep.  Enter with the pass-
word:  "Thank you!"  Make yourselves
at home, talking praise.  Thank him.
Worship him.  For God is sheer
beauty, all-generous in love,
loyal always and ever.
Psalm 100
The Message

I Needed The Quiet

I needed the quiet so He drew me aside.
Into the shadows where we could confide.
Away from the bustle where all the day long
I hurried and worried when active and strong.

I needed the quiet tho at first I rebelled
But gently, so gently, my cross He upheld
And whispered so sweetly of spiritual things
Tho weakened in body, my spirit took wings
To heights never dreamed of when active all day.
He loved me so greatly He drew me away.

I needed the quiet, No prison my bed,
But a beautiful valley of blessings instead.
A place to grow richer in Jesus to hide.
I needed the quiet so He drew me aside.
