I see the power of God
In the gentle ripple
Of the sea.
I see the love of God
Caring for the rose
And the lily.
I see the wisdom of God
In the ant's routine
And in the queen bee.

Small Things
For the bounty of small things
And the wisdom each brings
We give praise.
For the vision of the ant
And the bird's tenacity
We give praise.
For the philosophy of the bee
And the spider's ingenuity
We give praise.

Golden Hearts
A lump of earth
the gardener took
and seeded good.
Roses bloomed;
when pruned they pricked,
nettles stung and bit.
The gardener took
a spittled lump
blind eyes looked and lit.
The gold-hearted bunch
curled their petals
in a smile
nodding with delight;
they were rooted
in black soil.
But from that blooming bower
struggled rights in error
and wrongs to right.

Protection
Lord of the islands
And every grain of sand
Protect this and every land.
Lord of the hurricane
And of the calm,
Stay in the eye of the storm
If disasters come
To strip and devour,
Let them lose their power.
Lord of creation,
When storms shatter the land,
Lend us your helping hand.
